Lusk 4 Mile - March 2024

Plant Based AC athletes took to the roads and made their way to Lusk, North County Dublin for the slightly more unusual distance of a four mile road race. For the kilometre runners out there, that equates to about 6.44km.

Athletes got a fairly calm day to race, with no rain falling either - good result in Ireland where spring weather can bring anything from snow to sunshine all in the same day.

The route turned out to be a very mixed gradient, with some steep ascents and descents as well as some wide open flat roads to power through. Plant Based AC athletes had success in the race, with two age category wins.

Lea won gold in the M50 category and Rachel won gold in the F40 category, also placing fourth female in the race overall, hot on the heels of third with only nine seconds separating them.

Well done to Lusk AC on a fantastic setup and enjoyable event and all competitors on the day. Keep up the good work Plant Based AC! Hear more about the race from the perspective of Lea and Rachel
