Plant Based AC in World Record 4x800m relay team for Ireland - February 2025

On a Wednesday evening, Plant Based AC athlete Rachel represented Ireland in a World Record attempt in the National Sports Arena. A number of Irish teams were present to challenge the world records in relays. It was a very successful night, with all teams breaking the records. With regards to Rachel’s, the former record had stood for over 10 years, and was formerly held by the USA. With her teammates, Ciara Hickey (Brothers Pearse AC), Denise Toner (Ferbane AC) and Michelle Cox (Newbridge AC), a new record was set for the W40, 4x 800m. They raced to finish in 9:24:56 Well done to all the athletes who trained hard and to all those working behind the scenes on it, from Irish Masters Athletics, Athletics Ireland and of course, all the coaches, including our very own here in Plant Based AC!
