Winter racing - Larnaka 5k - November 2023

The promise of November sunshine beckoned some of our Plant Based athletes to catch flights and head for warmer climates to race. Larnaka, Cyprus was the destination and a 5km race was the choice of the day. In its sixth edition of its every popular event series, our athletes ran and competed in a beautiful 27 degrees celsius on a bright and sunny morning.

Apparently there was a storm the night before, with a stunning show of thunder and lightning on display - torrential rain also featured - athletes the next day were understandably glad not to be racing in stormy conditions, though some had hoped it would be slightly cooler temperature-wise than 27 degrees.

Our athletes battled for their finish times and finished the last 1km of the race on the stunning Larnaka seafront promenade with:

• Rachel: 2nd place overall and first in her age category

• Lea: 5th overall and first in his age category

Congratulations to all our athletes that travelled to Larnaka to race and to all the competitors on the day, a very well organised event, with great support from the crowds.
