Autumn Open Cross Country - October 2025

Plant Based AC travelled to Abbotstown along with athletes from all across Ireland. The race was on to compete in the National Cross Country Qualifier - to race and represent Ireland in the Five Nations Championships.

Last year, Rachel qualified for the Irish subs bench, as in 2024 the numbers qualifying for men's and women's teams was not equal. However, Plant Based AC worked with others to have this addressed. The Irish Masters Athletics Association, along with the other Athletics Associations involved in the Five Nations Championships, agreed to revise the men's and women's teams, to ensure equality for both sexes.

This year, Rachel finished in third position and secured her place on the Irish Squad. Team Ireland will be travelling to Leeds next month for the Five Nations Championship event. Plant Based AC wishes Rachel, and all running for Team Ireland, best wishes in the upcoming event.
