Plant Based AC embraced the ultimate challenge at the 5km race in Rhode, Offaly. This event was one of the highlights of the "Healthy Offaly" race series, a premier competitive racing series that lights up the summer months in Ireland. Competitors representing various clubs gathered as a vibrant community of athletes took to the roads and byways of Rhode, pushing their limits on the thrilling undulating course.
Our athletes raced hard, with Lea leading the field for 3km. With determination across the canal bridge and up the canal path into the home straight, he battled the cold he had been fighting as well as the mounting competition. Lea returned home in 16:33, securing 1st M50 across the line. Rachel represented our female athletes and also done well, returning home in second place in the race in a time of 18:26, also securing first F40 across the line with her efforts.
